Miguel Jorge

Senior Partner at BMJ since June 2011, the former Minister of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade (2007-2011) Miguel Jorge was born in 1945 in Ponte Nova, state of Minas Gerais. He has held several positions in entities and associations throughout his career. As a journalist, he worked for some of the main Brazilian publishers, such as Jornal do Brasil, Folha de S. Paulo and O Estado de S. Paulo (as an Editor-in-Chief), from 1963 to 1987. Miguel taught Journalism and was Head of the Department of Journalism of Universidade Paulista. In 1987 he joined Autolatina Brasil (joint venture Volkswagen Brasil and Ford Brasil). From 1998 to 2000, Miguel Jorge was Vice President of Human Resources, Legal and Corporate Affairs. In 2001, he joined Santander Bank Brasil as Executive Vice President for Corporate Affairs. From 2003 to 2007, he was a member of the Economic and Social Development Council of the Presidency of the Republic and, from 2007 to 2010, Chairman of the Board of Directors for the National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES). Currently, in addition to the Consulting Group, Miguel Jorge is an advisor to the MAN-Volkswagen Caminhões e Ônibus and Libra Terminais companies.
